Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also plays music. She received the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Apart from nine Grammy nominations, she was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She is a student and child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London, she spent the first few years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. When she was 13, she gave her first performance on stage in New Delhi. Then she moved into Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in 1999.
